Our world seems more connected but also more divided than ever before. It’s no longer enough to speak to those who already agree with us. If we want real change, we need to speak with those who don’t agree with us.
But some people can’t even be part of the conversation.
Last year alone, over 300 brave women and men were murdered for daring to stand up for their rights. And it doesn’t stop there. In fact, just four percent of the world’s population live in countries where the rights to protest, organise and speak out are fully respected and protected.
So today, we observe a digital hour of silence to raise awareness of and stand in solidarity with those whose voices have been silenced.
